We launched another website last night, powered by the worlds most popular Content Management System (CMS), WordPress.

Banksia Cottage is set on a lifestyle block 10mins North of Rotorua central city on State Highway 33. It’s a lovely small cottage with nice homely touches. Would be great for a small family or couple wanting something a bit more substantial than a square motel or hotel room. The kids will love the animals they have there: dog, cat, chickens, sheep and a pig.

Paddy and Jan are great hosts and we wish them all the best of luck as Rotorua gets set to be New Zealand’s newest international airport, taking direct flights to and from Sydney from December 12, 2009.

Journalist publishes worldwide

A local Rotorua freelance journalist by the name of Justine Southwick trusted Hodgeman Web & Design to create a professional, modern website for her to showcase her published articles to the world.

The new site, still to be launched officially, features a custom, secure administration area for her to login to. Once logged in, Justine can add her articles and upload photos into the database. The public then see a short teaser for each article on the website and if they want to read more, they then open a dynamic PDF, created on-the-fly of the full length article.

Complete rebrand for local motelier

A small local motelier enlisted the services of Hodgeman Web & Design to give their business a fresh new look for their relaunch. Previously known as Rotorua Microtel, the new central up-market Motel and Backpackers is now known as ASTRAY.

Almost taking advantage of all of our main services, ASTRAY requested the services of Hodgeman Web & Design for their logo design, business cards, letter-head creation, domain name management, website design and hosting.

Redwoods launched

Once of Rotorua’s greatest assets, Whakarewarewa Forest, otherwise known as The Redwoods, is a mountain biking mecca for national and international visitors, and now can be found online

The website, originally designed by a local graphic designer ZeroSeven, features dynamic accordions on every page to highlight the section of text you are currently viewing, cutting down the clutter and helping ease the user experience.

The main menu and accordions are built using the ever powerful javascript library, mootools.

Local motorcycle club gets facelift

I’ve been working on the major revamp to the Rotorua Motorcycle Club website over the past week and a bit.

They wanted something professional, funky and modern to help bring fresh blood into the club. It’s built on the ever powerful WordPress blogging platform, so has the power of giving the client the ability to access and create, edit and delete the pages and posts. It also features an event calendar and an e-mail newsletter subscription which should save them a few bucks on postage stamps.
